Worship takes place each Sunday at 9:30am in the Sanctuary at 18 Park Street.
What is worship like at BUCC?
Our service is a blended service that features traditional and contemporary elements.
After a few announcements, we open with a Call to Worship, folowed by a hymn. Most weeks there is a "Children's message" - where the minister speaks directly to the children, followed by a reading from the Bible and an offering of gifts (of the spiritual and financial variety). There is a message/sermon/ meditation that seeks to illuminate the spirit living in the ancient words of our faith, and then there is a time of prayer...oh, and singing! Plenty of singing. Sometimes our choir sings. Sometimes we sing. The point is to make a "joyful noise unto God!" and we do.
In all things during worship the leaders and congregants try to point toward God. That's what worship is about. That's what we try to do.
On the first Sunday of every month, Communion is served to any and all people desiring it.
Do my children attend the worship service? Sunday school for all ages is offered during worship, following the Children's Message (or Communion, on the first Sunday of the month). Our Sunday School facilitators will bring the children back to the entryway of the church following Sunday School, so relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee and the fine folks who are sipping it around you.
