If you would like to get to know people who are already involved in exploring their faith through pre-existing ministries, the following material is offered as a descriptive guide to those who might be interested in embarking on the following ministries at BUCC. BUILDINGS and GROUNDS:
Buildings and Grounds has charge of all property of the church, both real and personal.
B/G needs people to mow lawns, trim shrubs, paint walls, fix simple plumbing issues, repair glass and do basic carpentry projects. If you would like to use your skills to help in any of these areas, please let us know.

CHOIR/MUSIC:
Each Sunday our Minister of Music, Sally Shattuck prepares a joyful noise unto the Lord! With the help of choir and guest musicians, the spirit of joy that fills us up for another week of living is communicated to the congregation. If you like to make joyful noises, please consider contacting Helen.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION:
Christian Education is organized to oversee, direct and supervise the educational operations of the church, including the nursery, Sunday School, Adult Educational Programs, the Youth Groups and any and all ecumenical, educational activities, whenever appropriate. If you have an idea or energy related to Christian Education, please let us know.

COLLECTOR:
The Collector shall collect and record all monies of the church depositing same in the church bank account.
1. A separate account of benevolences, will be maintained.
2. The Collector's books and records shall be duly audited.
3. The Collector shall issue bi-annual statements to the Voter’s Assembly.
4. The Collector shall keep the Treasurer and the Treasurer of Benevolences informed of the amount deposited in accounts.
One or more associate collectors may be elected to work under the direction of the Collector.

DELEGATES HAMPSHIRE ASSOCIATION:
The Belchertown United Church of Christ is part of a collection of churches in Hampshire County. A few times a year, delegates from all the churches get together for education and fellowship. Delegates go on behalf of the congregation, meet new people, learn new things, and bring home a renewed spirit to the congregation to digest. If you like to meet new people and want to learn more about the United Church of Christ, please consider participating in this interesting ministry.

DEACONS:
The Deacons consist of six members, of which two new members shall be elected each year.
The Deacons aid the Minister in the preparation and administration, of all the sacraments and shall be the minister's advisors and helpers in the spiritual interests of the church and community. The Deacons assist ministering to the sick and the grieving and manage the Deacons Fund anonymously.
The Deacons are responsible for recommending individuals for church membership and provide supply of the pulpit in the absence of the minister.

FLOWERS:
Flowers shall be responsible for arranging for flowers for church services and for any special service or as needed. If you have an eye for beauty and a talent for communicating God’s grace through nature, or, you have a special occasion that you’d like to celebrate with flowers, please consider contacting Elise.

FUNDRAISING:
These folks try to put the “FUN” in FUNDRAISING!”
Three major fundraisers a year usually net around $20,000 to help fund our ministries at BUCC.
MISSIONS:
Our missions ministry helps the community and the world by taking the Spirit of Jesus out into the community and applying it to people in need. Some of the annual events we promote and participate in include:

PARISH OUTREACH:
If you enjoy visiting with people and praying with people, consider becoming a Parish Outreach minister. Individuals consult with the pastor to visit shut-ins and the sick by visitations, phone calls, and cards and notify the Pastor of any illness in the parish.
Parish Outreach assists the Deacons in reaching out to people at church and coffee hour and including them in fellowship. This is a great place to meet people and get to know the congregation and community.

- Mother’s Day weekend flower sale
- Fair Weekend including: Taco Salad prep and sales , Parking, clean up
- Annual Holiday Craft Fair first Saturday in November (set up, food service, clean up)
- Occasional Ice Cream scooping at UMASS
