Reverend Susan Tarolli
The Belchertown United Church of Christ (BUCC) joyfully welcomed the Rev. Dr. Susan Tarolli to the pulpit on Sunday, April 27, as she led worship for the first time as BUCC’s new minister. Reverend Susan, as she likes to be known, is being called to a designated term of three years and brings with her over three decades of ministry experience rooted in faith, community building, and spiritual renewal.
A native daughter of the Quabbin Valley, Reverand Susan was born and raised in Athol. Her return to the region is both a homecoming and a continuation of a ministry that has touched congregations across New England. Her most recent post was as minister at Second Congregational Church in Greenfield, where she served nearly five years. During that time, she provided steady leadership through the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic and guided the congregation through a period of renewal and revitalization.
Reverend Susan’s ministry is marked by a commitment to creating strong, dynamic communities of faith. Her approach emphasizes personal relationships and communal partnerships, helping congregants discover and share their individual gifts and talents. She is especially known for crafting worship experiences that are rooted in the richness of traditional biblical stories and speak powerfully to the spiritual questions and challenges of contemporary life.
“Reverend Susan brings not only wisdom and pastoral experience, but a deep joy in helping congregations thrive,” said BUCC Moderator Dave Crutchfield. “Her grounding in scripture and her vision for the future make her a wonderful fit for our church at this moment in time.”
Reverend Susan will be working part-time and she looks forward to connecting with the church and community members in the coming days. She may be reached at [email protected].
